Global Love Day!! 🌎❤️

In the wise words of the Beatles, “Love is all you need.” 

Global Love Day is celebrated annually on May 1st and promotes unconditional love and harmony among all people. The day encourages individuals to engage in acts of kindness, compassion, and understanding, regardless of differences in background, beliefs, or culture. It was established by the non-profit organization The Love Foundation to promote the idea that love can bridge divides and inspire positive change in the world.

On this Global Love Day, I feel inspired to share from our collection, What Color is Love? by Joan Walsh Anglund, an American author and illustrator best known for her children's books and poetry. Published in New York by the American publishing firm Harcourt, Brace & World in 1966, it captures the essence of love in its many forms, expressing emotions in a way that is accessible to readers of all ages. The illustrations in the book beautifully complement the text, featuring gentle and whimsical imagery that evokes a sense of warmth and innocence.

Together, the illustrations and prose align perfectly with the spirit of the day, encouraging people to reflect on love in its various forms. It's a beautiful reminder to celebrate not just romantic love, but also the love shared between friends, family, and communities.

Severance season 2 episode 8 spoilers!!

The reveal in episode 8 really recontextualizes a lot of Cobel’s actions for me. She’s having a crisis of faith. Lumon, the company that she’s dedicated her life to serving, completely snubbed her, and attributed her accomplishments to someone else. She’s fervently devoted to Kier and his teachings, but at the same time she’s “seen behind the curtain” so to speak, of how Lumon is a sham, and will twist the truth in order to better fit their grand narrative about the Eagens. And to add insult to injury, she is given a job managing the severed floor, a position where she is surrounded by the fruits of her labour that she will never be credited for. Honestly I’d be pissed too.
